BOTANICAL TOUR

Plant grow in different climatic conditions i.e., habitats .How ever great &

excellent is the narration in theory class, students understand better when they see

& explore them in their natural habitat . Hence our association organized a

Botanical Tour to the chilly region of our country covering Bangalore, Mysore,

Ooty & Coimboitore during Pongal vacation i.e., 10th - 17th January. The students

studied the plants in their natural habitats 45 students ( Boys & Girls ) were

accompanied by Mrs.T.Rose Mary HOD. Lecturers Mr. K.Sankar,

Mr.CH.Srinivasa Reddy & Lab assistant M .Venu Gopal .The places of visit were

the famous Botanical Garden in India Lal Bagh in Bangalore, Brindavan Garden

in Mysore , Government Botanical Garden , Tea factory , Tea Estate , Thread

Garden & Pine forest in Ooty & SIMS Park in Coonor. Students visited Sri

Chama Rajendra Zoological Park & Ranganippatu Bird Sanctuary in Mysore &

learned about different kinds of animals & birds. They visited Chamundeswari

temple, Tippu sultan Museum, Tippu Palace and Tippu Tomb in Mysore, Boat

club, Pykara water falls, the highest peak in south India, Dodabetta in Ooty

.which are the places of religious, historical & aesthetic significance . Students

also visited the famous Pasteur Institute of India in Coonor which is a Center for

Research & Development in Microbiology and Botany. Students gained lots of

experiences , knowledge and learned about many aspects of life during this

Botanical tour. They felt happy, enjoyed the tour & got satisfied in all aspects.
